Letter patent of appointment, dated July 14, 1742, granted and signed by the chancellery of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, to Jean van der Stricht to the prestigious ecclesiastical and honorary position of Provost of the Collegiate Church of Our Lady in Bruges. Handwritten letter on parchment, unfortunately incomplete but in no way hindering its comprehension. Handwritten signature of Maria Theresa of Austria. Attached are the imperial wax seal and the braided cords. Parchment: 40x70 cm Very nicely framed on a red Alcantara background: 82x87 cm In good overall condition.
