Joseph Marie Le Guluche (1849-1915): sculptor born in Plouri - Lot 302
Joseph Marie Le Guluche (1849-1915): sculptor born in Plourivo (north coast of France) of a sailor father; one of the most talented and prolific creators of models for the Villenauxe-La-grande and L'isle-Adam factories. Here, a 53 cm-high terracotta, "pendant la tempête" ("during the storm") in the spirit of realism, is part of a series of sculptures on the theme of the sea. The mother's face is a perfect expression of concern.
This beautiful piece has a small accident of 1 cm2 on the back of the figures, and the mother's hand is broken over the last 2 milimeters.
Artist's signature, maker's stamp, n°2024 and title plate on the front.
